Not Too Cute
Jan 4, 2018:
A Chemo Update and small blessings that god gave me today.
Today at chemo, my nurse blew seven veins, including two in my leg. Not too cute. They really did try their best. My veins are super skinny and they roll. I appreciated the nurse’s confidence when they attempt to try. They ended up calling a specialist. I was there from 8am to 6:30 pm.
Here’s a bit of what God gave me today…There aren't as many real people as we think there are. I have no idea what that even means, but there it is. Now, I have a fever. So many folks today. They’re such sweet people. Lots of talking out loud and lots of recipe sharing. I can't help but share what I know about, at least the vaccines, food and water. Some nurses have asked about the mushrooms for immunity and where they can get them and how they would prepare them. This is so good. Baby steps.
I’m doing great now. I’m taking my temperature every half hour. Slight headache though…I’m thinking it's from the sudden temperature rise, but I feel well. Not so bad, just a super long and unexpected day. Lots of good people-stuff though. Things Colleen taught me came in handy today for sure.
