One Breath Away…

January 17, 2017:

This is a text message to a young couple, my friends.

Me:

I have my surgery on Thursday. Not that I've ever entertained the idea that I wouldn't survive this, I just want to let you know how much you mean to my life and how much I appreciate the opportunity to love on you.

My young Friend:

Donna, I love you.  We’re all one breath from the glory of eternity - who can say which day we’ll slip into splendor?  I am glad to spend this day knowing you and having your friendship, “mothership” and love.  It was so hard to lose my brother Steven - but then such good came from it, that I gained an entire family.  I pray over your surgery with faith that every moment will be under divine love and providence.

My Friend’s Wife:

My husband speaks for me as well. We love you so much. I pray peace over you and that joy and love would overwhelm your heart in these coming days. I trust you to our Abba and I am thankful for every moment I've had knowing you and being loved by you.  I plan on having dozens of years more with you sweet Mama Donna.
