Up For Being Braver
May 31, 2017:
My cancer numbers went from almost 7000 to 7.2. As far as my doctors are concerned, I'm cancer-free. My last chemo was last Wednesday. So much of me, inside and out, has changed. I'm out to find the new God-given me and to enjoy whatever it is he has planned. Thank you for all the love and support. It's amazing the things you see God doing when you look for them! They're EVERYWHERE.
Hasn't it been amazing? This was the best thing that could have happened to me. God knows what's best for me. He saved me, again! I'm up for being Brave...okay, braver!
Update:
I went kayaking this morning. . .with strangers! It was a little scary, but I held my own, not super calm waters though. I may have said a couple of swear words, but I survived. The following is a text conversation between my daughter, Kailagh and I about this adventure.
Kailagh:
That's awesome, Mom. Where did you kayak from?
Me:
The Riverwalk. I met four 20-somethings and we talked for about an hour. One of them was on call for work, so they asked if I'd like to Kayak with them. I asked God to help me be brave and I said, “Yes!” Scary, but fun.
Kailagh:
You're so cool and great at making friends.
Me:
One of them said he thinks he remembered me from youth group at Lake Shore. I couldn't tell him that I had no recollection of him. He had to have grown a lot in seven years for heaven's sake.
For my next unexpected adventure…I'd like to milk a cow. Haha!
