Reflecting on My Trip to Vermont

Dec 31, 2018:

I’ve learned a lot on this Christmas trip to Vermont. After 60 years of experiencing life on this planet, I’ve never been more aware of the relationship of what I see in front of me, what’s in my mind, and where I am physically. It's a great visit with Colleen and her very unusual environment and life…at least to me. Vermont is visually breathtaking, but it’s hard, inconvenient, not economical, harsh living. Lol, that’s totally based on spoiled, first world privilege…OR/and I’m just fragile and old. I can definitely see that once exposed to mass amounts of forest, you’d be forever drawn to exist in it. I’ll miss this but it’s pretty consistently cold, about 8 months out of the year. I’m ready for some warmth. This has been one of the most challenging seasons of life, for almost everyone I know. I see it as beautiful, a time of growth and awakening to real truth. It’s all in how we respond and what we come to realize, as what we always really knew. God equipped us well. He gave us EVERYTHING we need!
